Trip Includes

  • Flights from anywhere in the United States.
  • Airport Taxes, Security Fees & Fuel Surcharges.
  • Marriott hotel (where the Congress is held) or similar hotel next door.
  • Congress registration.
  • All fees to the World Ware II Museum, Mississippi River Boat Jazz & Dinner Cruise, and Rock n Bowl Fun Night with NADD.
  • Transportation: airfare from anywhere in the US and bus throughout the trip in New Orleans when needed.
  • All breakfasts. Dinners only on Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • All tips to driver, hotel, and tour guide. If you feel that the tour guide did a great job, offering them extra tips is greatly appreciated.
  • Guided Tours and Tour Fees ~ Our tour guides are very caring, licensed, and well educated.
  • Luggage handling (1 suitcase and 1 carry-on per person)
  • Single Supplement (unless the passenger is willing to room with someone and allows us to provide them with a roommate. If the passenger wants a guaranteed room of their own, then they pay the $600 single supplement)
  • At the time of registration, as a part of the total balance, a non-refundable $500 (hotel and airfare deposit) is due in the form of a credit card. For example, if your trip costs $3,700, when you sign up, you pay a $500 deposit, then your balance would be $3,200 and is due 4 months before departure date. If you sign up after the final payment due date or at the last minute, you pay the entire cost of the trip at registration.

Trip Does Not Include

  • All lunches. Dinners on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
  • Trip Insurance. ~ The total trip cost is non-refundable, so we recommend trip insurance to protect your investment.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1: July 21 Saturday: Today is a travel day, from your hometown airport to New Orleans, LA. Upon arrival you will be met at the airport by our guide. Later, check into the hotel. This evening explore on your own the colorful downtown New Orleans.

Day 2: July 22 Sunday: A leisure morning including breakfast. In the afternoon, the Congress will open with Keynote speech and Mass celebrated by his Excellency Bishop Michael Almond, of New Orleans. The Congress will recognize, celebrate and promote awareness of diaconal ministry and the contributions of deacons in the Catholic Church following the model of “Christ the Servant: Yesterday, Today, and Forever.” This evening relax on your own, enjoying the New Orleans Boardwalk and French Quarter.

Day 3: July 23 Monday: After breakfast, Attend the Congress, including Mass, morning and evening prayer, presentations: "Spiritual and cultural roots of the renewal of diaconal ministry in the model of Jesus who came to serve," workshops, immersion ministry opportunities and fellowship. Time permitting, visit the World War 2 Museum 1:00-5:00. Dinner on your own at one of the many fine and fun restaurants nearby.

Day 4: July 24 Tuesday: After breakfast, continue with Congress, meetings, breakout sessions including "In-depth examination of the state of the diaconate in today’s Church." This evening gather for fun and dinner at the Historical Rock n Bowl, with live jazz entertainment, bowling, dancing and dinner buffet.

Day 5: July 25 Wednesday: Breakfast will be at the hotel, continue attendance of the NADD Congress. Discussions will include "Future of the diaconate in service and leadership for the people of God." Beginning in the early evening, enjoy a Mississippi Riverboat jazz & dinner cruise.

Day 6: July 26 Thursday: This morning check out of hotel, have breakfast, followed by the final day of NADD Congress, ending at noon with Mass celebrated by his Eminence Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of the Arch Diocese of Galveston, TX. Leave for the Louis Armstrong Airport immediately after Congress closes. Fly home.
